Overview
From the Ancient Field of Affection (Az KohneKeshtzār-e Mehr) is a poetic collaboration between Mahdi Haqiqi (tār) and Amirmahmood Safarpoor (tonbak), rooted in the spiritual and emotional depth of Persian classical music. Recorded in 2022, the album offers four improvisational pieces that explore the themes of fidelity, mysticism, and timeless devotion.
A Musical Dialogue
The album presents an intimate and evolving conversation between tār and tonbak. Through subtle interplay and dynamic contrast, the musicians craft a shared narrative—at times meditative, at times impassioned.
Blending Tradition & Emotion
Drawing upon classical Persian structures and the poetic ethos of Hafez, each track grows naturally from its mode, echoing the spirit of an “ancient field” where love and truth are patiently cultivated.
